Winter at the Park

Winter at Kohler-Andrae

There are many great things to do in the beautiful winter months at Kohler-Andrae State Park. There is nothing quite like the nature viewing on a hike in the winter time, but here are some more of our favorites:

Cross-Country Skiing  A two-mile trail with gentle slopes, taking you through a variety of beautiful environments. The trail starts near the amphitheater and travels through the wooded southern campground.  I then hooks to the Woodland Dunes Nature Trail and loops back to the picnic area at the beginning. The trail is groomed on a regular basis.
 Candlelight Ski

Held two nights during the winter, the trail is illuminated with tiki torches which adds to the already gracious scenery.

Camping

Several sites with electric hook up.  There is a frostless water tap at the trailer dump station and a hand pump near site 3. Vault restrooms are placed throughout the park

Snowshoeing

A great 1-mile trail begins near the amphitheater and additional snowshoeing is available at the 2.5 mile Black River Trail and throughout the park.
